After last year’s revamp and rebranding, the Pune Tattoo Festival turned tables to straightaway establish itself as one of the most entertaining tattoo conventions of South Asia. With fantastic tattoo artists, rocking music and a bunch of other activities, PTF v1 changed the spectrum of what all can be done through the thread of tattoos. It brought together the counter culture community of Pune, through tattoos, skateboarding, bikes, music, and by creating an atmosphere of revelry.
And this year, Ronak Patel, the organiser-in-chief of Pune Tattoo Festival has worked his ass off to bring together not just an enviable mix of ideas and activities, but establish India’s potential as a global leader in the tattooing industry. As proclaimed by the organisers, PTF 2.0 will be the biggest gathering of tattoo brands and suppliers in South East Asia. And that is just the foundation of this cake. PTF 2.0 is going to be hosting some of the craziest tattoo artists of our times from all over the world.
From realism geniuses like Tomasz Tofi Torfinski, Karol Rybakowski to the abstraction motifs of Ruth Barja to the traditional grandeur of Wirot Chantarakanit, some of the finest tattoo artists of Russia, Germany, Thailand, Philippines, Nepal among others will be tattooing under the roof of PTF. For a collector, there haven’t been better times for tattoos in India. Along with them, you simply can’t ignore our Desi Boyz, who are sure to steal the show with their tattooing.
And if you get dizzy looking at all the amazing art all around you for four days, PTF will have options aplenty for you to chill out. On of the star attractions of this year’s festival is Arun Bajaj, a thread artist. Confused what a thread artist is? Take a look.
Yes, we are MIND=BLOWN too! And to top all of it, PTF is brimming with super-exciting music acts lined up throughout the fest. From Indie metal outfits to fusion bands, the range is sumptuous to say the least, and our evenings are sorted.
Pune Tattoo Festival will be kicking off the busy Indian tattoo convention calendar, and there seriously can’t be a kickstarter than them. PTF 2.0 promises to create the balance between a community festival and an industry convention, and we are aboard this adventure. So, come join us at Raga Lawns, 2-5 November.
