David v Goliath is a tale as old as any available. The story gives a cautionary warning to people who may be considered big favourites to win to always try and grit it out because the underdogs can beat you at any moment. David overcame Goliath in the story, and we have seen many real life versions of the story coming true. The story comes true yet again, as the Toronto Raptors led by Kawhi Leonard defeated the basketballing dynasty known as the Golden State Warriors in a season which was supposed to be the year they finally 3Peat, win the title for three consecutive years.

Tattoos have stood as a long standing test for many sports fans, as it shows how far will they go in proving their loyalty to a particular team or player. There are a whole bunch of examples of amazing tattoos for teams and players, be it murals of a player’s head on someone or an intricately designed logo commemorating a big championship victory. Sports fans are often known to be some of the most passionate fans in the entire world. The rush of adrenaline one gets while watching a team they love compete against a team they hate is a feeling unparalleled by most things. People choose to live vicariously through players and teams and imagine themselves to be a part of a team, whether or not they have the chops to actually play the game. Apart from that, some people just love it because it’s fun. Superfans exist in every sport, and Basketball is no different. People keep getting inked with tattoos related to the sport just to prove a point and pay homage to a team or a player that has given them some of their best moments.

The Toronto Raptors just triumphed over the Golden State Warriors as basketball fever gripped the entire nation of Canada, as they cheered on the only Canadian team in the NBA. As the Raptors beat the Warriors in 6, the entire country partied in celebration for Kawhi Leonard and co. however, tattoos of the feat were present even before the win had been completed. Freedom Ink Tattoos in Little Italy in Toronto had decided that they will give away free Raptors tattoos after the Raptors had won the Eastern Conference finals against the Milwaukee Bucks. As we got deeper into the finals, the tattoo craze seemed to escalate with their chances of winning.

After the Raptors won, a fan actually went and got Kawhi Leonard’s celebration tattooed on his calf. That may end up being a bad look as Kawhi may be leaving the team this summer after leading them to a championship. One of the more interesting tattoo stories coming out of the finals was the story of two friends who had made a bet that they will get tattoos if both the Raptors and the Warriors make the finals. Warriors fan, Austin decided to tattoo the number 30 in honor of Warriors star Stephen Curry and added the phrase 3PEAT to the tattoo. This is sad because we know that the Warriors failed to 3Peat and Curry had missed a potentially game winning 3 pointer at the end of the match. They got inked by the famous tattoo artist Bang Bang who has already serviced the likes of LeBron James.

Through the finals, fans kept getting tattooed to show their allegiance to a particular team. Many fans got tattoos which depict Kawhi Leonard and many others got tattoos which play on the logo of the Toronto Raptors. The North are proud of their first title in NBA history and would like to build on the success from this year and try to repeat this victory next season, hopefully with Kawhi Leonard by their side.
